What’s the difference between your at home mask and in salon services?
At-home devices can’t have the power of a professional machine, but with meticulous engineering the creators of our mask have done everything possible to optimise the dose and absorption of light into the skin, in order to deliver comparable results at-home.
The Boost LED Mask will maintain results of salon appointments - use the Mask like you would the gym, and the Salon as your personal trainer.
Over a 4-week period, 3 treatments p/week of our at-home mask delivers the equivalent cumulative dose of light as 1 salon treatment p/week = 12 at-home vs 4 in-salon.
Pigmentation & targeted skincare
830nm helps inhibit melanin production and will improve the appearance of pigmentation and sun spots, especially when you use in combination with a targeted skincare product.
Vitamin C can be used under the light (as can hyaluronic, vit B, E, peptides etc) but retinol should be applied post. Skincare that is applied post LED, will work even harder, enhancing results of the product.
What a great product, can you make one with the blue light please!?
We are working on a Blue options but in the meantime have teamed up with @cliniseptplus and created an anti-bacterial and antimicrobial tonic (Boost Cleanse & Recovery Spray) to work in combination with the healing, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties of the red and near-infrared wavelengths.
Blue destroys bacteria but Red also has an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic affect on blemishes, and can reach/ treat deeper into the skin than Blue. In addition, we have teamed up with the excellent @cliniseptplus and created the Boost Cleanse and Recovery Spray, which offers both anti-bacterial and antimicrobial properties and will have a similar effect on the skin as blue 415nm (please note, if you are considering Blue LED - 415nm is the only wavelength to have an anti-bacterial affect on the skin. Other ‘Blue’s’ are brilliant in colour, but do not deliver the same results). Near-Infrared, which we offer in combination Red, will deliver the glow, optimise the health of the skin, improve circulation, and increase collagen and elastin production.
What about eye protection?
The Boost LED Mask only uses Red and Near-Infrared light (NIR), not Blue light, and the intensity of the LEDs in the Boost LED Mask is below the maximum permitted exposure for Near-Infrared 830nm and Red 633nm LED energy and within the limit of safe exposure for the eyes and skin.
Scientific studies have identified that Blue light, delivered to uncovered eyes, at high levels can be linked to eye safety issues.
The Boost LED Mask has been tested to the highest internationally recognized eye safety standards
(IEC 62471:2006:2008) and has been deemed safe for use.
As with all light products, the Boost LED Mask is not recommended for those with a known genetic predisposition to light, genetic conditions of the eye or who are taking medications that increase sensitivity to light.
If your eyes are sensitive to any form of light glare, we recommend relaxing during the treatment time with your eyes closed. However, client comfort and satisfaction is paramount to us, and we are therefore sourcing LED eye stickers, for clients who wish to cover their eyes and fully switch off during their Boost time.
If you have any concerns about your Boost LED product or would like more information, please email our customer services team on firstname.lastname@example.org
Is this safe for pregnancy?
The Boost LED mask has not been tested on pregnant women therefore the risk is unknown.
How does light therapy work?
The benefits are all a result of the light, which emits therapeutic wavelengths of light energy to energise the cells, stimulating the production of everything that’s required to regenerate the skin, from elastin/ collagen, antioxidants to circulation.
For hygiene reasons, beauty devices that have been opened cannot be returned or exchanged unless they are faulty. However, we do offer a 14-day cooling-off period, if the product is not used and you change your mind.
In this event, we will refund the price paid in full, subject to any deduction we are entitled to make if the item returned is not in a fully resaleable condition or the packaging is damaged.
A full two years warranty is offered for faulty goods.
Your Boost Mask
Medical-Grade Silicon - Due to the nature of the material you may see some imperfections in the silicon, this is normal and won’t interfere with the efficacy of the treatment.
Handle With Care - The Boost LED Mask is flexible and durable, but must be stored flat in its protective bag and well looked after for longevity. (See user guides for details).
Just like with our salon treatment, we have partnered with the pioneers in light therapy treatments, who have taken a clinically-proven treatment and created a genuine at-home version. Using only the correct dosage of clinically-proven wavelengths of Red 633nm and Near-Infrared 830nm (for wrinkles, hydration and firmness).
OUR TOP TIPS
A gentle exfoliation pre treatment enables better penetration of light. This can be anything from a manual exfoliant, gentle AHA cleanser, textured cloth, through to an over night resurfacing treatment
Any skincare applied post treatment will work even harder on your skin, so you’ll gain more from your product
Serum, a very thin layer of a cream mask or moisturiser can be applied under - if the layers are too thick, the product will absorb an element of the light. Ingredients such a vit B, C, E, hyaluronic, peptides etc work well.
A hydrogel sheet mask (specially formulated to work with LED) is a great option to use in combination with an LED mask, as the hydrogel targets surface hydration whilst the light treats from within
Resurfacing products such as Retinol's or Acids, are best used before or after LED (although lactic works well under, if the product contains a small %)
What are the benefits both short-term and long-term to using?
After 10 minutes under the mask your skin will feel plumped, hydrated and instantly refreshed. Regular treatments are clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Our minimum recommended treatment programme is 3-5 days a week for 4-6 weeks (double-dosing x2 treatments per week for a prolonged glow), with regular (daily or weekly) maintenance treatments according to your schedule.
Think of it in terms of a work-out - working out once is better than not working out at all, but if you stick to regular sessions, you’ll get great cumulative benefits.
Would love to read the research on this when you say ‘scientifically proven’. Could you point me in the right direction?
The Boost LED Mask uses two proven wavelengths of light; 633nm red light and 830nm near-infrared light. These wavelengths have been shown in clinical studies to stimulate collagen and elastin production in cells and to improve blood flow and tissue oxygenation through a process called photobiomodulation. These effects help skin cells absorb topical skincare products more effectively and helps rebuild the damage caused by the ageing process.
For more information please email us and we will send you the clinical papers aligned with our technology: email@example.com.
Can you explain how the mask work... does it need charging?
The controller is charged separately, takes around 3 hours to full charge and can then be used for 8+ x 10 minute treatments. You position the mask on to your face, attached the controller to the cable and switch the LEDs on. The treatment time is 10 minutes and has an automatic shut off, but if you want you can double dose the treatment for an intensive 20 minute cycle. During the treatment time you're free to move around or relax on the sofa!
Can you use it at night? Worried it might keep me awake as it’s like sunshine. Also can you use it every day if you like?
Double-dose it whenever you like, and you can absolutely wear it every day (it gets quite addictive), but 3-5x a week is the measure amount, so any extra is a little bonus. We wear it at night - watching TV, or pop it on in bed (and literally fall asleep with it on). Try a few options and see what works best, we all react differently to light.
How many LEDs does the mask contain?
Our masks contain 49 x 633nm (red) and 49 x 830nm (near-infrared) LEDs, and are engineered so each socket contains the two wavelengths. The quality of the LEDs are crystal clear and are driven at optimal intensities, so the correct dose of light is delivered to make a difference to the skin.
How does it differ from others
on the market?
Made from soft, comfortable silicon and completely portable, the Boost LED Mask delivers optimised intensities of clinically-proven Red 633nm and Near-Infrared 830nm wavelengths.
Convenient to use in-between salon appointments, you can multi-task whilst wearing it and it travels easily (because it’s lightweight, flexible and lays entirely flat).
Does it only come in red light or does it come in blue too?
This first mask, is the at-home version of our in-salon Skin Health & Rejuvenation treatment, and is intended to Strengthen, Rejuvenate, Brighten, Lift and Plump your skin.
To achieve these results, The Light Salon Boost uses only the pure, optimised, clinically-proven wavelengths and intensities of Red & Near-Infrared light.
Red stimulates collagen, encourages healing, calms redness and evens skin tone, making it an excellent treatment for slowing the ageing process and the negative effects of sun or lifestyle factors.
Near-infrared is the most powerful of the rejuvenative wavelengths, penetrating deeper than any product can reach. Near-infrared boosts circulation, improving the removal of toxins, delivering oxygen and nourishing the skin, whilst working in combination with red light to enhance the production of collagen and elastin.
We hope to bring out a Blue light mask in the near future to help Cleanse, Correct, Calm and Balance which, just like our Red & Near-Infrared Mask, will use only the pure, optimised intensities of light to deliver the correct amount and dose of light needed to make a difference to your skin.
So does any of the red light help spots? Or is that only seen on the blue light?
Blue targets the bacteria in a blemish but red & near-infrared are both anti-inflammatory and essential in the healing of a blemish. So they all have their place in managing break-outs.
As your acne is hormonal, it’s a multi layered issued and is not as simple as bacterial acne. Saying that, anti-bacterial treatments and products are beneficial in the treatment of all types of acne/ blemishes.
Whilst we don’t currently offer a ‘blue, red & near-infrared’ at-home option. Our Boost LED mask is designed to optimise the health of the skin, so will help manage and improve all areas of concern. We are also bringing out an anti-bacterial/ anti-microbial cleansing spray, that can be used in conjunction with our LED mask to treat and heal blemishes.
In addition there’s the option to have a medical strength Blue LED treatment in-salon, whether it’s with us or your choice of local salon.
Is the new led light mask suitable for all skin types. Also is it necessary to go to Salon for top ups?
The Boost LED Mask will treat your skin at home and maintain the results of your professional salon LED appointments, in the same way that your everyday skincare products treat your skin in-between salon facials - by using your Boost mask alongside your everyday skincare routine, you’ll get even more out of them too. And yes, it can be used on all skin types.
